Tutu's & Fairy Tales!

Ahhh...to be a little girl again!

One of my favorite things to do when I was a little girl was to play dress-up. I really thought I was a princess when my Mom and I would visit the local thrift shop and she would buy me a pair of high heels!
When a good friend of mine started making tutu's a few weeks ago...I was dreaming of being a little girl once again! They are SO cute!!! If I thought one of my boys' would wear one, I'd buy them the purple one! lol

Do you have a little girl that dreams of tutu's and fairytales? Contact Jennifer today and order a special tutu for your little princess!

Playing catch-up

Wow...where have the last 3 months gone??? It's been a while since I've posted!

I'm back and I'm ready to share all my new items... my favorite etsy shops... my favorite quotes... my favorite recipes... and ME!

I am thankful that we've almost made it through the winter! Usually around this time of year, I get down-and-out and sing the winter blues! But not this year! I awake with a smile and I'm ready to tackle the day. It helps that the sun is shining, the snow is melting (on sunny days), and spring is just around the corner!

We are already looking forward to camping season, and will be attending an RV show this coming weekend. Woohoo!

Let's say goodbye to winter in style! I am hosting a "Warm Winter Wishes" contest on my facebook fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/prairieboutique

What do you have a chance to win? A stylish handmade coffee cozy and special surprise, from me to you! All you need to do is mark yourself as "attending" and you're entered! Easy-peasy!

Good luck! While you're there, be sure to fan me too! I love new fans!

Here's a sneak peek at a few new items that I have posted on my fanpage OR in my Etsy shop yet:

Enjoy your day!

My favorite chocolate chip cookies!

These are my FAVORITE chocolate chip cookies EVER! Don't tell my kids, but I snuck 3 of them before they noticed, lol.

1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 1/3 c. flour
1 1 /2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
4 c. chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375. In large mixer bowl, beat margarine, sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 mins or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
Approx. 7 dozen wonderful chocolate chip cookies!

Santa's toque for the holidays!

While browsing through my Country Sampler magazine, I came across this idea and HAD to try it out!

Simply buy (or make yourself!) a Santa toque! I tried making one, but found that it was cheaper to buy them at the local dollar store!

One of my good friends works with arrangements and greenery, so I convinced her to fill the Santa toques with fresh greenery (spruce and cedar). These hats are a HUGE hit!

A glowing path way!

While touring a home this past weekend for "Homes For Christmas" we came across a beautiful pathway glowing brightly with flickering lights!

What a neat (& cheap!) idea!

Simply take a canning jar (ask your neighbor, visit a thrift shop, etc. for old canning jars), add some sand or fine rock/gravel, insert a tea light and voila, you've got a beautiful glowing light! This was beautiful made into a pathway!

I am definitely doing this, once I get a stock of canning jars!
